About Us

The genesis of the concept of an electric vehicle infrastructure network; whereby consumers could pull into a location and dynamically exchange the car's battery, was formed over 15 years ago when two brothers discussed the environmental perils of the continued reliance on fossil fuels for our cars.

One brother, David Guimarin, our founder, expanded on his idea and in 1997 received a US Patent covering the process of electric cars having an enclosure that would support an exchange capable battery, and the infrastructure mechanisms required to remove and replace those batteries in an automated, quick, and efficient manner.

For the next few years, our founder pursued the efforts of taking this concept and patented process and actually built a battery exchange vehicle. He was fortunate to have an extended family and group of friends who saw his vision, believed it could be done, and put in the many laborious weekend hours to make the dream a reality.

In the summer of 2008, the team completed the 1st Battery Exchange Vehicle (BEV) prototype and successfully demonstrated her roadworthiness and battery exchange capabilities.
